Website getting visitors but no enquiries?

People are finding your site, then leaving without calling, booking or asking for a quote. It’s one of the most frustrating spots to be in, and the good news is it’s usually down to a handful of fixable things rather than the whole site.

The usual culprits

It’s hard to use on a phone

Most local visitors arrive on a phone. If the text is tiny, the menu is fiddly or the page takes ages to load, they’re gone before they’ve read a word.

It doesn’t say what you do, or where

“Quality solutions for your needs” tells a visitor nothing. The top of your homepage should say what you do, who for and which area, in plain words.

Getting in touch takes too much effort

A contact page buried in the menu, a form with twelve boxes or no phone number at all. Every extra step loses people. A tap-to-call button and a short, friendly form fix a surprising amount.

There’s no reason to trust you

No reviews, no photos of real work, no faces. Visitors can’t tell if you’re a solid local business or a one-man band who might not turn up, so they pick someone who shows them.

The visitors are the wrong ones

Sometimes the traffic is from the other end of the country, or from people looking for something you don’t do. That’s a search and targeting problem, and it’s worth checking before redesigning anything.

Fix it, don’t always rebuild it

You don’t automatically need a new website. Our free audit looks at your site the way a new customer would and tells you which of these is costing you enquiries. Some fixes take an afternoon. If the site really is past saving, we’ll say so and quote for a new one, built on WordPress or Shopify, from £750.

Our own quote form is built on the same thinking: a few tick-box questions instead of a blank message box, because a tick is easier to start than a paragraph. Have a look, or read about our website design and local SEO.

Questions

How do I know how many visitors I’m getting?

Your website platform will have basic stats, and Google Search Console shows which searches bring people in. If you’ve never set these up, we can help.

Can you improve a site someone else built?

Usually, yes, as long as we can get login access. We’ll tell you after the audit whether it’s worth improving or better to start again.
